The leading quotes of my life.

As we move down the road on the Harry Potter adventure, we’ve literally seen how Harry and his surroundings have evolved; embodying a darker tone than its previous books, embracing more mature themes such as death. The books leading towards the grand finale left me gaping and craving for the resolution of this epic adventure. As you might have appreciated, Rowling’s writing seems to grow with the series. In the beginning, it was simple, childish, and easy-to-read, and now it’s the opposite, thus, making it more accessible to a much larger audience of varying ages. Her characters too, have acquired a voice of their own, instead of being flat and stereotypical (as seen during the first books).

‘They were good but nothing like the books’. A common phrase that I often hear after coming out of the cinema when a much-loved book has been turned into a film. It doesn’t make the film bad; they’re just not quite the same.
The Harry Potter films have sparked off a whole different group of fans, those that have seen the films but not read the books and personally, I think they’re missing out on a lot. As great as the films are there are other bits of detail that are skipped out in the films. For example, early on in the series a comment is made about Peeves, Hogwart’s resident poltergeist, knocking something over which leads to a large crash. Although at the time it seems insignificant we later learn that the item Peeves knocked over was the vanishing cabinet that appears later in the series. Although this did not affect the plot of the films in any way, it was a shame that they couldn’t include these small details that made me smile.

This is the fifth and most ambitious book in the series. The Order of the Phoenix is an organization led by Professor Dumbledore, that fought Lord Voldemort when he was at full power, before Harry was born. It was disbanded when Voldemort lost most of his power trying to kill Harry at one year old. Now that Voldemort is back, the Order has been reestablished, using Sirius Black’s family home as its headquarters. Harry is attacked by dementors during the summer while he’s at the Dursleys, so he has to be transferred to the Order’s headquarters for his own safety.
The plot line has become much more diversified and intricate than any of the previous Harry Potter instalments. Many new characters are introduced, and some of them are almost as evil as Voldemort. Previously peripheral characters have become much more developed

It takes a great deal of bravery to stand up to our enemies, but just as much to stand up to our friends.
